Decoupling in the Similarity Renormalization Group for Nucleon-Nucleon Forces

Decoupling via the Similarity Renormalization Group (SRG) of low-energy nuclear physics from high-energy details of the nucleon-nucleon interaction is examined for two-body observables and few-body binding energies. The universal nature of this decoupling is illustrated and errors from suppressing high-momentum modes above the decoupling scale are shown to be perturbatively small.

Renormalization of EFT for nucleon-nucleon scattering

The renormalization of EFT for nucleon-nucleon scattering in nonperturbative regimes is investigated in a compact parametrization of the T -matrix. The key difference between perturbative and nonperturbative renormalization is clarified. The underlying theory perspective and the ’fixing’ of the prescriptions for the T -matrix from physical boundary conditions are stressed.

On the renormalization of effective field theories for nucleon-nucleon interactions

The renormalization in nonperturbative regimes are investigated in a compact and general parametrization of the T -matrix for nucleon-nucleon scattering. The underlying theory perspective and the ’fixing’ of the prescriptions for the T -matrix from physical boundary conditions are stressed with various existing schemes briefly addressed.

A New Expansion for Nucleon-Nucleon Interactions

We introduce a new and well defined power counting for the effective field theory describing nucleon-nucleon interactions. Because of the large NN scattering lengths it differs from other applications of chiral perturbation theory and is facilitated by introducing an unusual subtraction scheme and renormalization group analysis. Calculation to subleading order in the expansion can be done analy...
